Refund Terms & Conditions
Payment & Refund Policy for Tutoring Sessions:• Students who wish to reserve a definite weekly time slot for a one-hour private tutoring session, need to prepay for a set of 12sessions. During this period, students may elect to cancel or reschedule with no charge, any two of the twelve sessions –provided they have notified Renaissance Kids by 5 P.M. of the previous business day. For sessions scheduled on theweekends, notification of change must take place by Friday, 5 P.M. Cancellation after this time will be charged the fullamount. Any credit (up to two sessions) remaining will be refunded at the end of the twelve weeks.• Students, without the commitment described above, may schedule lesson on an “as needed” basis, at the appropriate hourlyrate. Payment must be made at the time of scheduling. Once a session is scheduled, THERE WILL BE NO REFUND FORANY CANCELLATION.Payment & Refund Policy for All Group Enrichment Classes, Test Preparation and Summer Camp:• Full payment for all classes is due at the beginning of each term. In order for Renaissance Kids, Inc. to continue providingquality education at reasonable prices, we cannot allow rescheduling or private refunds for missed group classes.• In order to reserve a space prior to the start of either the Spring, Summer or Fall terms both pages of this application must becompleted in full, signed in the appropriate places and accompanied by full payment in the form of either a (1) check or (2)credit card information and signature authorization.• Group Class cancellations will receive a 50% refund if written notification is received 30 days prior to the first day ofclasses. No refund will be made otherwise.• I.S.E.E. or S.A.T. cancellations will receive a 50% refund if written notification is received 90 days prior to the first day ofclasses. No refund will be made otherwise.• There is no refund for Summer Camp cancellations.Other Terms & Conditions: Renaissance Kids, Inc. realizes that sometimes events occur that must be dealt with in a fair andappropriate manner. We have instituted the following rules in order to deal as fairly as possible with the families of “our children”.• Renaissance Kids, Inc., at its sole discretion, may deem a child inappropriate for its program. In such a situation the child willnot be allowed to continue with the program and Renaissance Kids will within 10 business days refund a prorated amount forall unused classes or private sessions. The family will have no recourse other than this refund.• In the event that circumstances arise which prevent the teacher for the group class or individual tutor from meeting at acertain time and day, the family will be credited for that time.• Renaissance Kids, Inc. may choose, due to circumstances that arise, to substitute a different tutor for the private session or ateacher for the group class. Renaissance Kids, Inc. will make every effort to notify the families in advance of such changes. Ifthere is a permanent change in the private tutor, the family many elect to discontinue with the program and will receive a fullproratedrefund for unused sessions. The refund will be made within 10 business days. There is no refund due to a change inteacher for the group classes.• In the event that Renaissance Kids, Inc. deems it necessary to cancel or discontinue a class, Renaissance Kids’ sole obligationwill be to make an appropiate effort to provide the family with a comparable course. In the event this cannot beaccomplished, Renaissance Kids will refund any prorated balance within 10 business days.• The total claims of the family, with respect to issues of Professional Liability, will be limited to the amounts paid for thecourse in question. No claims for refund shall be valid after the completion of the course.

A product of Georgetown and Columbia, this is my tenth year as a writing tutor. I have also worked as a full-time classroom teacher, in the humanities, for Johns Hopkins’ CTY and a gifted school in CT, and as an extremely successful college essay writing coach. My teaching certification is in grades 5-12 and as a college adjunct professor. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in writing intensive positions at Cambridge, a national non-profit, and William & Mary. As a result, I will most certainly help you to write better papers, whether they are short responses, literary analysis, DBQs, thematic essays, comparative pieces, persuasive editorials, analytical essays, creative narratives, personal statements, or formal research papers. I might even be able to help with poetry! As a teacher, I have helped students of all abilities to significantly improve their writing, critical / analytical thinking abilities, and grammar. Almost all of my tutoring students have become A-level students in all of their humanities courses and exams, including Regents, AP and college courses. I also specialize in middle school education. I am constantly updating and refreshing my skills and lessons, as well as customizing my instruction, to ensure the success of all my students! Numerous educators, who are familiar with my students, their struggles, and their subsequent accomplishments, have commented on the strengths of my customized sessions, which highlight students' strengths, target students' weaknesses, reflect student interests, and accommodate students' individual needs in order to maximize the positive results. My students tend to be extremely happy with my tutoring, and their grades and scores improve, often by a very large amount!
